Placement Information

Over the last week I have been able to find out more information about my placement.

Accommodation:
I will be living in a 3 bedroom flat in Ilorin. At the moment, I will be the only volunteer living in the
flat and I'll have my own private bath and toilet with access to the living room and kitchen. The flat
is on the 3rd floor of the building with the computer school, which is on the 1st floor. The flat
includes air conditioning, fridge, stove etc. It has electricity, but it is usually on and off, there is a
backup generator. This sounds way better than I could have imagined!

The flat is very near at the market where I can buy my food. Food is said to be cheaper than in
other states. Kwara is an Islamic state.

Computer School:
There are 15 computers, 1 printer, & 1 scanner.
12 of the computers are working and running Windows 98.
There are two teachers currently working at the school.
10 Students every 2 hours, 1 student to a computer for 2 hours a day. These students will finish
their term in July and a new class will begin in October when I arrive. Classes last 60 days.
Computer theory is taught when the electricity goes off.
