I am a Nigerian living Houston, Texas. As a Nigerian I have never been to the Ilorin Area, I don’t
know why. I will commend you for taking the time to volunteer to serve the people of Ilorin. Nigeria
can be a difficult place, but you are doing very well, and even learning pidgin. I don’t know why I
never volunteer in Nigeria, but have volunteered to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chiapas,
Mexico and Mexico City where I spent 4 years. I am currently serving in the US Army Reserves as
an NBC (nuclear, biological and chemical) specialist. Public service is a tough job no matter what
capacity you choose to serve, that is why I am commending you for going to Northern Nigeria at a
time that most Nigerians wont want to go there and most African Americans I have seen here
would not want to go to Africa because of instability. I want to say THANK YOU

I am a Nigerian living and working in the UK and it has been nice reading through your blog. I can
tell you that you have travelled to more places in Lagos than myself in over 30 years of my life.
Have you been to Cross river yet? I hope you continue to have fun and a successful programme.

nice blog there. interesting reading about your "adventures". i'm nigerian and i live in the us. some
things you and your friends have done are even too scary for me to do. the only bus i've taken is a
"danfo" from lagos island to victoria island. and that was scary.  granted i was pretty young (12/13)
but even now i can't imagine taking one to and from the mainland. anyways, i just wanted to
correct your spelling of white person = "oyinbo". good luck in nigeria and will be reading more of
your posts. dami.

Found your blog while looking through stuff on Nigeria. Great work....Am sure you will make a
difference to the kids you will be teaching! As a Nigerian, I feel what you are doing is something
that we need people to do more........It is better to teach a man to farm than to give him aid.
Keep Up the Good Work!!!
